🚨 FATAL CRASH | FORT MYERS A man has died after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on S Tamiami Trail just north of Constitution Boulevard in Fort Myers. San Carlos Park Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 12:43 AM Wednesday morning. Fire & EMS radio communications indicate that the approximately 50-year-old male victim sustained critical injuries and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center with CPR in progress. He was later pronounced dead. The vehicle fled the scene following the collision. All northbound lanes of US-41 were previously shut down but have since reopened.
